The Haunts of Brisbane Presents: Tragic Tales of Toowong Cemetery tour is a special night-time experience. You will discover some remarkable Real History.
This is a great way to safely see the cemetery at night. Your guide is Liam Baker, who is Queensland’s leading historian of the paranormal, and creator of ‘Haunts of Brisbane’. Liam has decades of experience researching the history of Australian ghost stories, and will share some of those tales with you, along with some of the horrible history surrounding this special place.
Hear amazing true stories of the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement, Brisbane’s lost graveyard, horrific hangings, bloody murders, and be prepared for some spine-tingling tales of the ghosts that are said to reside within Toowong Cemetery. All the stories are based on actual historical records.

All of our tours are not-for-profit, with all money raised going to our cemetery history and maintenance projects.
Prices
- Single bookings: $20 per person/$15 per concession.
- FOSBC & Coffin Club members: $10 per member.
- Group bookings (four or more people): $15 per person.

Walking difficulty
- Moderate (Grade 3) – Please be aware, given the aging nature of the cemetery, this tour involves walking [slowly] up hills predominantly over generally modified terrain [hardened earth, less than 1200mm wide], mostly clear of intrusions & obstacles. Please advise us of any relevant medical concerns prior to attending the tour.
Duration
- 2 – 2½ hours [tour times can vary, depending on levels of customer interaction during the tour].
Age level
- This tour is suitable for ages 12 years and up – it contains supernatural, murder & suicide themes.
Private and Easy Access Tours
We can organise a Private Tour just for your own group of friends. We also organise Easy Access tours for groups with mobility issues. You can select any available tour type you want. Minimum cost is $225 for up to 15 people (extra people $15 per person).
All of our tours are run by the Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery (Inc.), under license from the Brisbane City Council.
