The Pioneer Women of SBC tour is a fitting precursor to our very popular The Women of South Brisbane Cemetery tour – where the incredible untold tales of the brave and resilient souls who shaped the early days of Queensland are bought back to life, alongside their headstones. Every story on this tour is a testament to the spirit of adventure, perseverance, and sheer grit that each of these pioneering women embodied.
join us as we deep-dive back through the historical record, paying homage to the fascinating lives of these pioneer women, via the challenges they faced and the achievements they celebrated.
The Pioneer Women of SBC tour is part of the Queensland Cemetery History Tours range – Brisbane’s best and most affordable cemetery night tours.
All of our tours are not-for-profit, with all money raised going to our cemetery history and maintenance projects.
Prices
- Single bookings: $20 per person/$15 per concession.
- FOSBC & Coffin Club members: $10 per member.
- Group bookings (four or more people): $15 per person.
- Tour gift vouchers make great gifts – purchase one (by value) here.
Walking difficulty
- Moderate (Grade 3) – Please be aware, given the aging nature of the cemetery, this tour involves walking [slowly] up hills predominantly over generally modified terrain [hardened earth, less than 1200mm wide], mostly clear of intrusions & obstacles. Please advise us of any relevant medical concerns prior to attending the tour.
Duration
- 2 – 2½ hours [tour times can vary, depending on levels of customer interaction during the tour].
Age level
- This tour is suitable for ages 12 years and up.
Private and Easy Access Tours
We can organise a Private Tour just for your own group of friends. We also organise Easy Access tours for groups with mobility issues. You can select any available tour type you want. Minimum cost is $225 for up to 15 people (extra people $15 per person).
All of our tours are run by the Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery (Inc.), under license from the Brisbane City Council.
