Explore one of Queensland’s grandest and most beautiful Victorian-era cemeteries under the stars with the people who know it best.
The Women of South Brisbane Cemetery tour is a special night-time experience. You will discover some remarkable Real History as we visit select graves to hear the stories of women whose lives and deaths (be they tragic or inspirational) reflect the history of women in Queensland. Everything you hear will be factual and sourced from historical records.
All of our tours are not-for-profit, with all money raised going to our cemetery history and maintenance projects.
- Single bookings: $20 per person/$15 per concession.
- FOSBC & Coffin Club members: $10 per member.
- Group bookings (four or more people): $15 per person.

Walking difficulty
- Moderate (Grade 3) – Please be aware, given the aging nature of the cemetery, this tour involves walking [slowly] up hills predominantly over generally modified terrain [hardened earth, less than 1200mm wide], mostly clear of intrusions & obstacles. Please advise us of any relevant medical concerns prior to attending the tour.
Duration
- 2 – 2½ hours [tour times can vary, depending on levels of customer interaction during the tour].
Age level
- This tour is suitable for ages 12 years and up – it contains supernatural, murder & suicide themes.
Private and Easy Access Tours
We can organise a Private Tour just for your own group of friends (minimum 10 people). We also run Easy Access tours for groups with mobility issues. You can select any available tour type you want. Minimum cost is $225 for up to 15 people (extra people $15 per person).
All of our tours are not-for-profit and run by the Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery (Inc.), under license from the Brisbane City Council.
